The History of Newstart Homes

Newstart Homes was established in 1987 and in 1994, Newstart was listed amongst Business Review Weekly’s (BRW) Top 100 Growing Companies.

This steady growth plan continued throughout the 1990’s culminating in a decision by the original owners to split the company into two separate entities – Newstart Homes (Nth Qld) and Newstart Homes (SE Qld) Pty Ltd.

Newstart Homes (SE Qld) Pty Ltd was acquired in May 2000 by national homebuilder Home Australia.

Home Australia now provides the banner under which Homestead Homes in SA, Collier Homes in WA, Newstart Homes in QLD, Ashford Homes in VIC and Huxley Homes in NSW operate.

Chris has been a part of the Building Industry for nearly 30 years, starting out as a carpenters assistant and then operating a roof fixing business. Chris has worked for numerous companies in Senior Management roles and has been with the Home Australia Group for 9 years.

Chris has learnt over the years that Client Satisfaction is a key point to a successful business and is very much part of Chris's strategies for Newstart Homes.

Barry Thompson - Senior Home Sales Consultant

Barry has been with Newstart Homes for 9 years & possesses a wealth of experience, covering all aspects of building a new home, starting from site assessment through to handing over the keys. We greatly appreciate Barry's commitment to our company & his dedication to providing a valuable service to his clients.

Blaine Watson - Senior Home Sales Consultant

Blaine has been with Newstart Homes for 5 years and has a background in the finance industry of 7 years. Having obtained Real Estate Principal and finance broker qualifications and having
personally built several times, Blaine is a real asset.
